Step 1: Online window shopping was really fun and got me to notice similarities in the pieces that caught my eye! I’ve been looking into spring/summer day dresses to wear once it gets warmer out, and these (see image above) were my favorites from different websites and Pinterest!
Step 2: I noticed paler, subtle colors – I seem to like whites and pastels when it comes to dresses. The dresses that caught my eye typically had plain/no patterns, and smooth or ruffled textures with flared bottoms. The pieces were all very similar to each other and remind me of some pieces I have in my closet from plain, flowy skirts sundresses to ruffled skirts.

Steps 3 and 4: These are the outfits (see image above) I made, inspired by my window shopping trip! These pieces definitely reflect my aesthetic style of balance, value, and line! With the skirt outfit, the soft pastel blue balances with the ruffles and lines of the skirt and tank, creating value. The style of the pink satin dress is very similar to the third dress I found when window shopping: simple and smooth, with a subtly flared out bottom (creating balance). It was a great experience seeing my aesthetic style come to life with pieces in my own closet, inspired by pieces I would’ve bought online! :)
