Styling Outfits That Direct The Eye

We direct what the eyes look at. If I don't do anything with this dress, you kind of see a dress, right? I personally don't like how that looks. So that's where I'm thinking, "Okay, I want to style something."

Maybe I want to draw less attention to the neck or bust. That's where I decide maybe I want a statement necklace. Maybe I want a scarf.

Maybe I want a blazer or a cardigan or a layer, right? Creating 'balance'. That's usually what I go for because it's part of my aesthetic style. 

The point is, what do those things do? It's bringing in those little details to focus your eyes where you would like them to go. 

Now, where it gets really fun is when you know your aesthetic style, because you bring in those little details that make your eyes extra happy.
Like, "Oh my gosh, I LOVE that!!" I love to help you with this because it's taking style to a personal level. Do that requires getting out of our heads and focusing, observing with our eyes more. That is the secret.

It's not your clothes or your body that dictates how you dress. You are the director here, you get to decide what your eyes focus on based on how you style it.
