The design principle ‘rhythm’ = repetition that creates movement 🌀 It’s different from the design principle ‘pattern’ which is repeating design elements in a specific order ⛱ 4 Ways to Style with ‘Rhythm’ in clothes & home: 1) Intentionally placing certain colors in various places around a room so that it makes your eyes to move around the entire room. 2) Layering clothes where under layers are repeatedly seen i.e. at the neckline, waistline, cuffs. 3) Wrapping a scarf around multiple times. 4) Wearing or decorating with an item that has ‘rhythm’ such as:
🪡 Knitwear - most have rhythm in how the thread is repeated in certain directions. 🐆Animal prints - the spots or stripes are repeated in a way that looks like movement 🧺Weaving or rattan decor - have rhythm similar to knitwear but a different texture (see examples in the living room photo above) Fun right?! 😃 Do you think ‘rhythm’ might be a part of your aesthetic style? The best way to define your aesthetic style is in my YAS Stylists program. Watch the VIBE class to learn how to join 🙌🏽
